About the Role
We are seeking an individual to join our collaborative Safety + Hospitality Ambassador Team employed to make downtown Erie safe, fun, and welcoming for all.
Our work spans across various audiences centered on improving the downtown environment in such a way to produce a positive outcome on downtown’s economic vitality and quality of life.
The Ambassador will demonstrate a good work ethic, attention to detail, and work well in a team setting. Ambassadors are deployed across the downtown commercial core to help maintain cleanliness and improve the standard of care. As an Ambassador, you represent our organization in the community. At all times, you are expected to present yourself professionally and behave in accordance with our organization’s policies and standards.

Essential Job Functions
In coordination with the Ambassador Manager and team, you will be responsible for the implementation of services to support the organization’s mission of creating a safe, fun, and welcoming downtown for all, to include:
- Remove litter and debris from public right of ways daily.
- Power wash buildings and sidewalks as needed.
- Provide homeless wellness checks as needed.
- Tree trimming and watering.
- Weeding and mulching.
- Snow removal of the public sidewalks.
- Assist with event set-up and tear-down.
- Assist visitors to the downtown when asked.
- Assist with business outreach and check-ins as needed.
- Track and report daily work.
- Utilize tools and equipment such as power washer, lawn mower, snow blower, and Bobcat to perform essential job functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager or Assistant Manager.
Candidate Experience
At least one to three years’ experience in roles that include:
- Grounds Keeping
- Maintenance or Custodial Work
- Facilities or Waste Management
Candidate Requirements
This is a public-facing role requiring:
- A valid PA Driver’s License
- Ability to pass a background check and drug testing
- Ability to do physical work outside
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Compensation and Location
The Erie Downtown Partnership provides a competitive wage and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, generous vacation and sick time, holidays, and match of employee contributions to the 401(3)b retirement plan.
Hourly wage is $17.00.
Our Ambassador team works from a satellite office located in downtown Erie and provides services in the public realm. Ambassador work hours are Monday through Friday 6 AM to 2 PM. Some evening and weekend work may be required from time to time. The Ambassador reports to the Ambassador Manager.
Ambassadors are provided training upon hiring and throughout the year. Ambassador seasonal uniforms are provided to each Ambassador as well as a work boot stipend.
