Erie's universities attract so many students because they offer nationally ranked programs with alumni in prominent positions around the globe. But it doesn't hurt that they're located in a city with art galleries, performance theaters, and year round live music. While they're here, students enjoy our local AAA baseball, basketball, and hockey teams. Students coming downtown find Thai and Irish fare, cafes and Mediterranean food, excellent places for a first date and great places to watch a game. Our local universities work with the city to create a safe, entertaining, and accessible downtown for their students. From lecture series to opera performances, education is complemented by arts, sports, and social experiences that enrich lives as much as minds.
